Volvo v marc ? ) has any one go either that can give me some advice, Also I been looking at the sealine F37 but a bit over my budget of 100k ?

Della lady has been for sale for at least 2 years. Nice boat, but oddball boats must be bought significantly under the value of mainstream boats.

You can probably just about get an f37 for £100k which is a much better bet. Or even an f36 if you have too.

The p36 is a great boat also - one in mbm this month for €87,000 which is a chugging steal.

I wouldn't want to give more than 65k for the shetland to be honest

I polished mine - topsides and above, twice in a week when on holiday a couple of weeks ago. I find it quite therapeutic!

I agree mine is black so takes a bit of keeping on top of. When we arrive at a Marina I wash, dry, polish. Beer at my side as I work my way down, relaxing enjoying and a proud moment when complete, but then it's never complete.

Any way this thread about flybridge, I was once told not to get a flybridge for uk waters under 40 ft

Under 40ft is fine, just so long as they are on shafts

F36/37, prestige 36, phantom 38 are all fine boats.

People say lots of thing - a fair percentage of which is utter ****.

To be fair, well set up smaller fb boats with outdrives are fine but the weight distribution is not helped by engines at the back

Thanks Whitelighter , My shortlist is Phantom 38 , F36/37 or Prestige 36 , so i now feel i`m on the right track . It is now down to price and spec / age as to which one to pick . Decisions , decisions :o:o .
Feck it i`ll get a yacht :eek::eek::D .

We have Prestige 32 and really rate it. Owned it getting on for 2 yrs now. But.... if we were buying again with the benefit of the experience we have now and looking and trying friends boats, the Sealine F37 takes some beating for its size in terms of price, quality design, handling etc. In comparison, you can see where the Prestige saves its costs. Our 32 is an excellent Sea boat with very good handling and accommodation for the size. The P36 should be equally as good on the Sea and gives that bit extra room. We went for the P32 as it was signiificantly cheaper at the time from the P36s and F37s of the same year. Also, our 32 has the same engines as the bigger boats so is lively in terms of performance for this type boat (actually the extra grunt doesnt really matter as you dont use these boats in that way. A fact we did not appreciate at the time, coming out of a US sports boat) If we could choose again, we would stretch and buy the slightly bigger Sealine.

Don't get me wrong I would definitely recommend the Prestige's for the money and they provide a great boating package. Its just when comparing them now, as we can, the Sealine is worth the extra all in our HO of course!

Ripster does your 32 have a double floor over the engines to reduce noise ?
if so is engine access a pain ?

Yes it does have a double floor and this and all the sound insulation is needed! The ladies would be very intrusive without it! Engine access for routine maintenance is "OK" I have found. Yes there are a lot panels you can take up and this gives you full view of things. But for example you really only need to remove 4 wood panels to check oil and coolant levels, adjust drive belts etc and inspect the motors. The worst part is clearing the saloon floor, moving the table and rolling back the carpet. The panels come up dead easily. For cleaning the main cooling filters and turning off cooling Seacocks, looking in the bilges and just peering at the engines to make sure all looks normal, you just lift the laz hatch and step down in - plenty of room.

When we were looking, some of the smaller FB Rodmans had very difficult engine access, nearly impossible! The P32 is tight in some places for access, sure, but overall you can get to most things including the shafts, and seals. I think for the size of boat and considering she is on shafts, access is not too bad.

Volvopaul (on here) does the servicing on her and of course many other boats, he may be able to give an opinion on the comparative engine access for the boats you are looking at.

The Prestige 36 is a very nice boat but looses out from smaller internal space due to a wide external walkway but everything is a compromise you take your choice.

The Sealine F37 is an excellent boat , if its out of budget look for a Sealine 350 or F36 which are very similar to the F37.

Along with the prestige their fittings have been designed with price in mind and many of these boats will be showing wear, which is good really as they have been designed well enough to get a lot of use , the reason I mention it is you may find a lot of trips to look at boats are wasted as your garden shed is kept in better condition, try not to get too excited when you see what appears to be a bargain price, chances are you are just in for a wasted trip and disappointment, new seats (internal and external), along with canopies will add be an extra cost along with a wasted season as you organise the repairs, chances are if the boat is shabby so is the engine maintenance.

I looked at all the above boats when I looked 5-6 years ago and I bought a Princess 360 , its been a fantastic boat (most the time) and there are plenty to choose from, well worth looking (mine is not currently for sale ).

for the benefit of the OP I fully endorse the F36. I bought one in 2003 for our sea school,
she now done 4600 hours and has been a very good school boat. No major probs apart fropm one head gasket. Good boat

I am another vote for the F37. It was a fantastic boat for me. For its size and the amount of space you get (both living and storage) it is pretty hard to beat IMHO.

Happy hunting
