I like the photo of the geezer washing his boat with full Atlantic storm gear in bright yellow- good to see a full risk assessment done here-whereas the guy holding the DA sander, presumably dripping in water, isnt even bothering with gloves, never mind anything else.

Ok Ok, I am sure he is using an air DA. Come on.. how many people have a 230v tool and how many people have an air compressor in the back of the Merc?
As it happens, I would love to understand 3M products. I think I might have spent 5 hours over the last week. They have now released a brand new web page for Marine,only it covers about 5 of their 50 products ???

Not dripping with water, a bit of water squirted on the surface before using the da sander. Water only coming into contact with the wet and dry paper.

Yea.. but then you know how to do it Neale ! Tip I ve come across on the web is make a loop out of a big cable tie and run that over the wool mop to fluff and clean it.
At least in the video you mention an rcd. You re looking V smart in the new Garmin jacket btw

My DA is stepped down to 18v, quite safe.

Any water added (if not using a quick detailing lubricant) should have a drip or two of detergent applied via a misting spray to assist 'stick'.

Many skip the finer stages (3000 grit) and move from 1500 to polishing stages, but the 3M Trizact 3000 are the key to really 'jeweling' the gel coat - more microscopically flat and true.
