Has anyone else had this recurring problem? I have the 4 button panel for the electric toilet. I replaced it about 18 months ago when one of four buttons stopped working

Now one of four has stopped and the other 3 are reluctant. I wonder if its the heat here in Greece

The units look sealed but can they be broken into and cured?

Thanks

So to answer my own post incase anyone ever stumbles onto this thread, here are the answers
The unit can be taken apart. The middle section is glued in place but can be removed with the help of a sharp blade. The picture panel comes off and then you are left with 2x2 membrane switch.
I have not found an identical membrane switch but a 1x4 from RS works perfectly. With the help of a Dremel I adapted the plastic to take the 1x4 switch
£12 instead of £120.

So you press the 1 button for a number 1, and the 2 button for a number 2 - what are the other two options for? ?

Sorry to drag up an old post.. i have exactly the same problem. The buttons in our aft head failed last year and i replaced with the full unit. Our fwd heads (which has a two button switch) now only fills and will not empty.

Did you simply just replace the entire switch inside.. did the buttons line up with the panel? I am not sure what i would do with the extra buttons as i only have 2 buttons (fill and flush)

thanks

Gosh, its a while since I posted this. On my electric flush panel there are 4 buttons. 1 -Flush (which fills and empties twice) 2 -Quick flush (fill and empty once), 3 - Fill and then 4 -Flush
If you only have two buttons then I guess you just need a 2 membrane keypad. Would this one work? Not a big investment to try and see. If it were me and the keypad does not fit the surround, I have the ability to create a new panel with my 3D printer.
Maybe the first thing is to dismantle the panel and look at the connector and see if its the standard type.
If I can help further, let me know

Thanks for your reply, I found one on Amazon here that will arrive a bit quicker. Also some connectors here which i assume I will need to connect it to the cable that runs down to the head?

When i replaced the Aft head i moved to the 4 button panel.. very keen not to spend £150 to fix this one!

A mate of mine has a 3D printer so that might work too.

thanks for your help!

A proper PBO answer. :) (y)

Hi, I realise this is an older thread, but maybe @tudorsailor or anyone else can help: My 4-button Jabsco control panel is working only occasionally… I am thinking of the 4x1 matrix panel in the thread, does anyone know how to connect it to the existing wire that runs to the black control unit?

Its a while since I made the new controller. From memory, the plug on the cable goes onto the end of the existing wire. To be sure you need to open the old panel to see the connection.

After a successful replacement of the control panel, here are some tips, some of them (but not all) mentioned before by others in this thread: Any 1x4 Matrix membrane switch should work, as long as there are 5 connectors (one per button and one ground). The ground is usually the first or the last one, not in the middle. The membrane switch needs to be connect to the cable that runs from the old control panel to the black control box. Cut the cable close to the old control panel (no need to destroy the connection between that cable and the cable that leads to the black control box) and free up some length of the threads. Green is ground. Brown is Fill. Yellow is Empty. Red is Quick Flush. Orange is Flush. Black is not in use. These threads can be connected to the new membrane by using e.g. Wago connectors and a set of short pinned cables that fit into the new membrane switch.

Joakim. New member here wanting to fab a 3 button pad with 2-wire momentary switches. Can I simply wire each switch with ground and brown, ground and yellow, or ground and red? I'm replacing the oval 4 selection blue keypad on 2 toilets.
