Seems to have gone down hill again. OK with the basic meals such as fish and chips but don't expect much more, and if you want some Palma ham, don't try their's as may just get very fatty (90% fat) thick raw bakon.

Needless to say, when we complained they did compensate us OK, so will give them another try once the summer rush has cleared.

Probably because you asked for Palma ham, its a cheap majorcan imitation of the real Parma ham. But seriously, the Butt used to be a smashing pub, but it was taken over by Brewmaster or some such when the old man left, and it also became popular with hords of Chavs from Ipswich- must be awful for the poor sods that live there.

Yep, back in my day was run by an old RAF-type boy with a handlebar and, sadly, I think, Parkinsons. The casks were racked at the back of the bar; he'd pull a pint, and get about three quarters of it to the bar, then use a half pint mug to top it up .... with the floor awash in ale, he never minded a bit of mud on the customer side. No food in them days. Well, a bag of crisps and a pickled egg if you were peckish ..

Last time I went it was a bit, well, naff. How's the Queen's Head at Erwarton these days?
