Abrahams Bosom has a history of being a safe anchorage. However, the last time I checked at low water there was 8 metres of water. I actively search for shallow water to drop hook as its a heck of a lot of chain to haul up singlehanded without a winch. It may be shallower near the island but I also actively avoid sticky mud.
