The elasticity of the nylon replaces the lack of catenary.

However as neither anchor has been deeply set and the holding looks poor - its all a bit academic.

If you find yourself anchored next door - your nightmares lack realism.

Yes I was concerned whether the penetration was adequate. Perhaps they'd failed to assess how firm or soft the bottom was.

The other worry is how well those Danforth types would cope with a change of direction during the night.

On a slightly serious note I do know of someone whose water bed caused a few other problems. They filled it up, went to work. When they came home it had moved itself downstairs again. When I say serious, of course everyone laughed.

An interesting aspect of the cartoon is that in this one and most others the anchor in the illustration is commonly a Fisherman/Admiralty Pattern, CQR or Danforth. It must say something - but I'm not sure what.
