They will need to plant thousands of them to gather enough energy as they only produce 500kW per unit.
The net result is increased power from a smaller package. The planned normal full size weighs only 7 tons excluding anchoring which gives an energetic payback time of 3 weeks, compared to 8 months for onshore wind.

So, the power will be conducted away by wires in the tether, one assumes. I wonder how long it will be before metal fatigue severs the tether at its base?
