We had our first Proper day out Yesterday (Sunday May 30th 2021) and went to the Ramsholt Rocks it was very busy I think due to the nearby camp site. I felt it was lovely seeing so many people enjoying the place and the river given the bad weather recently and of course the lock down.

I was also interested in the wreck that seems to have found itself to the beach. If indeed it is a wreck.

I say 2020 in the Video but it was 2021.

Looks like Dick Baldwin has finally managed to extract "Alpha" from the mud at Melton Bridge. Still a long way from Brightlingsea, which is his intended final destination.

The magazine of the East Coast Old Gaffers association has the story in full, pages 12-15:
Eastcoaster August 2020

Oh So I was a little remis when I called her a wreck...... Is a restoration on the cards

Unfortunately, in this case, the dividing line between wreck and restoration is vanishingly thin.

I just read the article and cant help thinking Dick needs some help. I cant help wondering if with the power of the internet there might be some help that he could receive

This morning I posted an explanation here as to why the delightful Dick is now likely to find it impossible to get any further help. Unfortunately, the moderators removed said post on the grounds that, in their opinion, it had inappropriate content and breached YBW t&cs. Oh well, such is life nowadays...
I’ve been censored a couple of times in the past by the Guardian website but I really feel that to be no-platformed by the YBW East Coast Forum represents a sort of lifetime achievement ???

I was at the Rocks again the other day and decided the Alpha needed a little mascot to help her. Here it is. It is called Octalph
