I believe that there is a direct bus which runs between Roscoff and Quimper. Despite the best efforts of Google I cannot find details. Can anybody help, please, SWMBO will be very grateful? Looking at mid-July.

I can find a variety of routes which are a combination of buses and trains with various numbers of changes-these are not what I am looking for.

TIA

Try http://www.breizhgo.com. I used that last year to find transport details in France. You can specify start, destination and types of transport. I found that it did give details to get to Quimper (but I wasn't starting from Roscoff). It might not find the bus you want but it is a useful site.

Yes, I have looked at that site, useful, but not what I am looking for.

Thanks anyway.

Maybe I should add that I have looked at www.bonjourlafrance.com and www.virtualtourist.com.

We found that bus times are hard to get hold of until you're at the bus stop where the time tables are displayed.

Try phoning or emailing the Roscoff or Quimper Tourist office; they are used to dealing with this type of enquiry.

Also consider a taxi. It's an expensive option but if there are several of you then it may work out less costly than you expect and a lot more convenient. Last year we were met at the Roscoff ferry terminal and taken to the marina at Loctudy for just over Euro200. That was for 4 of us plus luggage (including the fore-sail). The cost was only a little higher than bus + train. If Quimper is your final destination then a taxi won't be quite so competitive.

The price of the taxi was agreed in advance by email; but they did add about Euro10 for the luggage. The journey took about 2 hours, no waiting around or missing connections.

If the ferry is due in at 1500, and the train leaves at 1530-that doesn't seem much time. Any comments?

There may be more trains than are published on the web-site. We found this last year leap frogging our yacht and car up from La Rochelle.

The Tourist office may be able to help.

That is cutting it too fine. If it is a busy boat it could take longer than that to get off the bus. Our experiance of the train is it leaves bang on time.

We are crossing mid-July wave if you see us.

There is a greater selection of times if you change at Morlaix.

Earlier this year had need to get someone from Camaret back to UK via Roscoff. The Tourist Office there were very helpful and supplied full details and times for all connections. Their English put my Franglais to shame!!!

According to this link (http://www.viaoo29.fr/plan/?rub_code=5) there is no direct service from Roscoff to Quimper.
There is a route Roscoff-Morlaix (29). You could then connect on to route Morlaix-Helgoat-Quimper (60).
Timetables and prices also to be found on the site.
