Bus bar fusing query

Ok. With some angle grinding and fibreglassing, I've figured out how to bring my house bank batteries closer together, using the attached setup.

I know you're meant to fuse batteries within 7" of their terminal. The problem I have is that each of my battery cables to the bus bars is still going to be in the order of 90cm...(of 2/0 cable), so I'm assuming that I have to fuse each battery separately, and then the positive bus bar main distribution line (ie, the wire after the bus bar).

Is this correct? Is there any way to avoid having to fuse each battery separately here?

No need for bus bars or several fuses. Connect the batteries from pole to pole, positive side and negative side respective. Take-offs preferably on the diagonals. One fuse close to the positive take-off pole.

No the setup has to be as pictured. The closest I can get my 3 house batteries to each other is currently 2m. But with a bit of work, (grinding and glassing), I can get them to within 90cm of each other, if (and only if), I wire them to a busbar, which is centralised between all of them. Hence the circuit design. This is also a way to ensure perfect balancing of charging (and discharging), given the physical constraints I'm working with....

OK, misunderstood them to be directly side by side as pictured.

According to ISO 10133 the allowed distance of unfused cable connected to a battery post increases from 200mm to 1.8m if the cable is enclosed in a conduit the whole way. So you might get away with only one fuse, provided the busbar is also enclosed.
NB this is from the 2012 edition, so might have changed.
If the above is also sensible is another matter.
 
Either put the interconnecting cable in conduit, or fit individual battery post fuses, which are available for tapered posts or threaded studs.
