Hi - I am currently Boat less but hope to have a new to me one for the start of next season (or maybe end of this season) my Last boat was at North Fambridge which was a great marina with only one drawback - The North Sea was a bit of a trek away.
So I am thinking of Using Burnham on Crouch Marina as it is a lot closer to the North Sea and has plenty of amenities near by.
and I am looking for Opinions especially on Car parking - I know they finished the car park off on the top of the hill as you Drive in but does it get frequented by boy racers and the like on an evening as I don't want to leave my car to any potential thefts / damage.
Many Thanks for any advice
Jon

They were supposed to be initiating a charge for use of the top car park with all berth holders registering their vehicles for free parking in the car park or yard area. Despite sending them my reg a few months back, nothing seems to have happened about it. I have never seen any problems in the car park caused by boy racers.

I've not berthed there for the last four years so I may be out of date but it's dearer than north fambridge, and you are discouraged from using any tradesmen other than the on-site guys to work on your boat. They're fine in my experience, but I like to have a choice. Also, the chandlery closed during covid, so that's a major convenience gone. Oh, and it's another 10 mins drive to Burnham, assuming you don't live in Dengie - longer if you're stuck behind someone slow, in which case it seems like forever.

On the plus side, you're near a town, with everything that that offers and, as you say, you're closer to the open sea.

If you go, be sure to read their contract. For example, I sold my boat about three months into my annual contract. Did they refund the difference? Did they b****cks! Plus, they sold the exact same berth to the next guy.
