To avoid jumping in with both feet, can anyone tell me the easy way to change a bulb in a Plastimo Olympic 135 steering compass?

Can't remember the exact method but it took me about 3 minutes: unscrew whole compass from binnacle and it was obvious how the new bulb (with twisted wires) went in. Most chandlers seem to keep the bulbs with wires.
