Does anyone know where I can find a suitable wiring loom / harness block from. It is a block with 8 wires and takes the male part of the spade connectors.

I can not think of what to search for, and my terminology clearly isn’t great for doing a search :-)

Do you really need one? mine died so I wired it direct, avoiding the plug, just took 8 wires of the same colours and terminated them on the control panel and the engine.

A motor accessory or caravan shop might have the two shells that mate with one another, but not necessarily with the Original Bukh.

try searching for Multipole connector.

Thanks they look like they would do the job.

Chewi - Yeah I had thought about doing that, but I am lazy and thought it would be easier with a replacement block rather than having to do all new wires :-) but you are quite right, that is a possiblity :-)

Thanks for both of your help

They would do it, but get both sides while you are at it. If one side mates with the Bukh, great, if not you can do the other side, The 8 terminals are crimped and clicked into the housing. If you haven't got a good crimp gun ( not just a squeeze and hope job) you ought to solder them.

But do consider that the only advantage of those connectors is that at initial install you can plug whichever control panel you have to the engine. Once you have them and the engine is installed you may as well avoid it altogether, avoiding the opportunity for any of 16 crimp terminals and 8 connections to fail.

p.s. that'll teach me to draft a post and walk away, it was redundant by the time i sent it!
