Hi All,

I have a Bukh DV10 circa 1982. The buzzer on the engine panel is broken. I just spoke to Bukh and replacements are pricy. We thought no reason why I can't fit a 12V buzzer, the guys at Bukh weren't sure of the electrical characteristics (I'm assuming it should be 12V).

Does anyone know a suitable buzzer, or know what electrical characteristics I should be looking for when selecting the right buzzer?

Thanks,

Mark.

No help to you really but my Bukh buzzer has stopped working. Not sure if it is the buzzer at fault or the wiring or something else! Guess I will go to Maplins and buy cheap one to substitute. Cannot see why standard 12V job should not be OK.

I changed the buzzer on my Bukh panel a couple of years ago with a 12v jobbie out of Maplins - works fine but do be careful soldering the new one in.

Be careful not to damage the little circuit board - or burn your fingers.

It's also possible that there's nothing wrong with the buzzer, and the problem is corrosion on the PCB. The side you cannot see unless you unscrew it. If corroded find an old toothbrush and give it a good brushing with meths. Then paint it with varnish (or 'conformal coating' if you want to be posh). How can anyone manufacture something for marine use and not pay any attention to such detail?
