Can anyone help me out with the torque setting for the flywheel bolts on a DV20, please? The front of my motor is getting a bit rusty - especially around the flexible mounts and it would be a lot easier to clean it up without the flywheel in place. I have taken the flywheel off before (in 2011!) but neglected to record the info in my notebook!

The above is from the Workshop Manual for DV10 and DV20.

The owners handbook for DV10 and DV24 gives:

(ie the same torque setting, but with different alternative units)

I think the workshop manual is also available on line. I believe I might have a PDF copy on my PC, if you want me to send it to you.

By the way, the manual says you should fit new Unbrako bolts, and apply a thread locking compound.

I always clean out the threads with a tap.

Thank you Poignard - I have the workshop PDF but since Windows 10 update it doesn't want to open. It's 12 Mb so maybe too large for Microsoft I am aware of the Unbrako bolts - considerable expense at the local Bukh agent, I expect!

I confess I reused the bolts on mine, several times.

Very keen on the thread lock though.

Work out how you're going to counter the torque when you're putting it on. Think I jammed a very large screwdriver between a flywheel tooth and the starter mounting...
