Hi Everyone.

I have a Bukh DV48

The temp warning light intermittently chirps and flickers

At low revs when I switch the engine on it chirps, when i make the revs higher it stops chirping

At high revs approx 2500-3000, it also chirps (this has only happened once, as i do not use it at that speed that often)

The water flow seems fine.

The temp gauge seems fine.

Any ideas on what the problem is

Thanks
Tim

Thanks both for your reply. I have just changed the starter motor so I may have knocked the wires.

Thanks

Don't know about the DV48 but the DV20 has a well known potential problem with the distributor plate behind the instrument panels taking the feeds from the alt, & temp & op senders & connecting them with the alarm. Had a long running problem with mine, which replacing the sender dd not resolve, but putting in uprated resistors did & so far no recurrence (think you can equally buy an uprated distributor plate from BUKH). If you do a search on here re Bukh & temp alarms, you should come across relevant threads over last few years (including mine!) & there is commentary on replacement resisitors/diodes on one of the pages on this site:

PS Just noted in finding the link that this also indicates the DV48 does have the same arrangement, so worth checking if new temp sender doesn't resolve it

Hi, I took the temp sender out, and found that the temp warning light connector was bent. Straightened it with a pair of pliers and re attached the spade. I have had a two hour cruise and seems to be no problem. Thanks Tim
