I have a Bukh DV20 inboard. It seems fine but when I go from forward into reverse there is a clunk as it engages. It is connected with teleflex cable top a morse single lever control.
Could it be possible slack in the cable or something in the gearbox itself. I do stop in neutral for a few seconds before going into reverse but it still goes in with a clunk. The main question is should I worry? Many thanks in advance. Ian

My DV24 fitted with a BW7 g'box clunks in reverse and clicks in ahead - noise reduced by changing the oil and filling to correct level but still definitely "Clunk - Click" every trip.

My DV 20 does exactly the same. I disconnected the gear cable and operated the gears from the 'engine room' and could hear no clunks at all as it engaged ahd and astern.
