I seem to remember a post regarding the slow responce of DV10s to throttle controls. Mine takes about 4 seconds to get up to speed (out of gear). IIRC the poster suggested that there was an adjustment that could be made to the rev limiter. I know that slow response is a feature of Bukhs but how slow is slow. The ability to give it a quick burst astern would be helpful on occasions.
 
I think the slow throttle response is the price you pay for a thumping single with a large flywheel. Short bursts of power are not an option but nonetheless I like the old thing.

Yes, this is not so different to the two cylinder engines.

I find mine smooth and reasonably quiet yet getting that flywheel moving is one small price you pay.
