Can anyone tell me where to locate the engine anode on my Bukh, Cliff recommends changing it at least once a year and I would if I knew where it was?

Its on the end of a big plug screwed in to rear of engine on starboard side. Viewed from the gearbox side it's right above the throttle connection just to the right of the exhaust elbow. Screw out the plug. The anode has a short lenght of threaded rod which screws into plug. Dont be surprised if the plug screws off the anode when you are removing it. Some times the anode gets broken up and its difficult to get all of old one out and new one in.
hope this helps.

I think I have found it

I think you have; looking at it from the flywheel side it is to the left of the rocker cover and behind the thermostat housing.

You will need a 22mm combi spanner(ring and open-end)

I've had this trouble [caused by corrosion on the zinc increasing the diameter so that it won't clear the hole] and had to make up an extractor to pull out the remains. To prevent it happening again I now change the anode twice a year instead of once and also machine a couple of millimetres off the diameter of the new zinc rod.

It's also worth running a tap [3/8" bsp, I think] through to clean the thread in the hole where the holder goes.

I hate to criticize BUKH but they ought to have found a better place for the anode; somewhere accessible from the front of the engine.
