bukh circulation pump

Has anyone changed the packing in a bukh 20 fresh water engine circulation pump, how did it come apart and what size packing.

I think we are all puzzled that it would have packing at all?

I'm not totally up to date but I thought that Bukh 20s were all raw water cooled, in which case they have no circulation pump.

On engines that do have a circulation pump the seal is normally a ceramic one that cannot be maintained.

Quite a few BUKH 20 installations do have freshwater cooling. I have a vague recollection that it was a genuine BUKH offering at one time, but was certainly available as after-market.

(Amazingly my raw water BUKH still runs cool even though I've never cleared the injector tube ..... must be the Emsworth water ).

I have a freshwater cooled bukh dv20 which this season I am replacing with a dv24. Cant help about the freshwater pump but if you rring Norm at Bukh UK he will tell you everything you need to know.
If you need a new one Shaun Brackston I think has loads of them as he is selling freshwater cooled 24's

This is a friends engine and in his manual it mentions packing but is a bit vague as to dismantling but I will ring bukh and ask. Do you have contact info on Shaun brackston please.
