Building my own cat.

I want a cat cos my friends got one and he says they're better for bonking in. THis is important cos I'm ocean cruising in a red Beneteau 390 (which is great but bouces around at anchor). Now the questions are;

1) Are these cats safe? Can I go for a doze (cos I mainly single hand) without tipping the bugger up?

2) can I buy another 390 and strap 'em together would that work? I know I'll have to frig around with the rigging.

3) Do cat hulls have to be the same size. ie would there be any mileage in strapping a McGreggor 26 to my 390 and get a sooper machine.

4) Do cats ever break in the middle ifyou do too much trampolining

5) Answers eagerly awaited ..

ps Ive heard of a catcracker is that related to a seacracker?

I have a cat that I am selling called Catcracker. She was BP Catcracker once upon a time. Is this what you heard of? An iroquis mark II 30 ft overall and 13 ft 6 wide 18 inches draft with everything pulled up (this means that when you are aground and being blown onto a lea shore (at HW springs natureally) you find yourself being able to step off onto dry land. On the other hand you can get to places others cant. An autohelm works fine but if conditions are marginal it would be sensible to take a sheet in hand (main or genoa ((there are endless arguments about which)) so as to be able to let go. Better still reef!!.
