Has anyone replaced the Gori folding prop on DV10 L SME with a fixed 3 blade propeller and if so what size and how has it performed
With forward and reverse propulsion , yacht is used mainly for cruising so loss of speed under sail for racing etc not and issue

Because no one else has replied so far, I thought my experience might help. I have the Bukh 24 with a fixed 3 blade prop. The boat originally had the Bukh 20 with a 16x11 prop which was not changed when the engine was changed to the 24 hp. This new engine should rev upto 3600 rpm but could not get higher than about 2750. I used one of the online prop size calculators which advised 15x10. Had the prop cut down to 15x10 but still only managed 3200 rpm max. Got the prop further reduced to 14.5x9.5 inches and now get 3650 rpm max. Means much better slow speed control; quieter running at cruising speed; better fuel consumption - averaged less than .4 litre per hour last season with quite a bit of motor sailing and motor at 6.5 knots at 2100 rpm. My boat is an LM30 with sail drive. Hope this helps.
