Please can anyone provide a link for Bugel anchors? Google finds nothing but yachts for sale, E-bay no hits. A German or Dutch chandler that lists them would be helpful if Bugel don't have their own site. Thanks for any contributions.

It\'s a type, rather than a brand...

"Bugel" isn't a brand, it's just a generic term for a type of anchor. The best versions are probably the stainless ones made by Wasi, a German steel firm, see here.

It appears that the original Buegel Anchor is exclusively made by the Hamburg based company "Herman Gotthardt GmbH". I think they're more into B2B and don't deal with individual customers directly (though you might give them a ring and ask). I just received mine yesterday and it came with a certificate from Rolf Kaczirek who invented the Buegel Anchor and holds the patent for the design. Since it's in public domain now copies can be easily found. However some varying in quality. The WASI anchors are also built according to the original specs but far more expensive. They do look bling though!
www.toplicht.de sell both.

Just checked: I payed EUR 265 for the 16Kg version (including VAT, shipping). At least to me it didn't seem worth to get a copy as they're not considerably cheaper. The basic design seems quite simple but it also depends on the quality of the materials used etc. The one I got is definetly first rate so why bother with copies?
I learned that the hard way with the CQR.
