BTW: one week to go!

I will be towing 2 skiers going across, as I should have the bigger prop on, and the coolant changed and the heat exchanger degunged awaitng replacement.
I expect, that just like last year, there won't be a single breath of wind......

Sorry Jim,

But Roger wins on this one.... although the authorities might not be impressed with him crossing the TSS at that angle /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

We are not ready so will not be coming along this year.
Wish you all a good trip and hope to join you next year.

Should be on the water again weekend of 24 June and look forward to seeing some of you then.

Clive

Just finishing off some re-wiring this afternoon, tidy up on Sunday and then we're done. Hopefully will see you all Sunday as we're chickening out on the TSS at night with no masthead lights and going the Scenic route via the nice Thai Cafe at Ramsgate Friday night, and Dunkirk Saturday. Any recomendations for seafood restaurant in Dunkirk gratefully received.

Yep, ready as we'll ever be. New sprayhood on the boat (from Dolphin Sails - very impressed) and the stack-pack comes next week.

Anticipating eagerly!

Regrets from me - the client requires my presence on Friday and possibly Monday as well - so no trip for me.

Fair winds - mind the curry - and peaceful watches to all.
I could just have done with a bellyful of Grimbergen Brune!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Why not go to Nieuwpoort?
Only 10NM further than Dunkirk, and not such an industrial waste land.

If you're desperate for fish, in Nieuwpoort head for the KNYC (first on starboard side). Place is pricey and frequently full (???). From there it's about a half a mile walk to town, some very nice seafood restaurants there.

The Air Force Yacht Club (WSK-LuM)(first port side) restaurant do a mean steak - huge!! - and price is very reasonable. Both for the food & the berth. Last year we paid 15€ for a night for a 38ft-er.

From Nieuwpoort it's only 16NM to Ostend - a leisurely 2-3 hours.

hmm tempting... but also to consider is that we have some friends heading to Dunkirk Saturday too. Guess we'll see what progress we make Saturday. Anyway good news is electrics now seem fine. We now have 2 batteries to choose from, a chart light, solar panel and fairy lights!
