'Pesaviki' doesn't translate too well into English, roughly it means "a man who's wife is sleeping around, he knows it and is not man enough to do anything about it". The word is a self contained insult.
Possibly spell it "Pezaviki"
Give your collegues there a big "Yassou" from me and explain I am half Greek, my father is buried in Faliron (Little Smyrnia)

Thanks for the explanation, The guys here still don't recognise the word, sheltered upbringing obviously. They send a 'Yia sas' to you, I am being prompted for the spelling. Our office is at Kallithea and I stay in a hotel apartment overlooking the marina at Kalamaki so I drive through Faliro each day. Noisy but super sea views.

Yacht club of Greece

The word is heavily used by Cypriots and is very difficult to translate. Imagine explaining 'Tosser' or 'Plonker' to a foreigner. I am surprised they aren't aware of it though, your collegues are obviously from good families, not the Greek Shipping mob like me all descended from Smyrians. Have you visited the Yacht Club of Greece yet? (formerly the Royal Athens Y.C.) superb club and well worth a visit.

Re: Yacht club of Greece

Thanks for the tip, I will try to visit. I don't get much time for site seeing as I do a weekly commute from West Mersea to Athens. I have to get home at weekends to stay (relatively) sane.
