My BSS test is due in a couple of months. I had my engine rebuilt professional since the last test. I noticed the exhaust used to have lagging on it between the heat exchanger and water injection point, since the rebuild it doesn't have any. Also the fuel leak off pipe (rubber one that comes off the top of the fuel filter) is touching against the exhaust at this point.

I presume the BSS inspector will have something to say about this. It's probably not best practice anyway to have a rubber fuel pipe touching the hot exhaust.

The problem is because of the location of the connector for the leak off pipe, it's difficult to see how I can avoid it touching the exhaust.

I hope we can help directly to avoid the retest charge.

Please can you send a picture or pictures from various angles of the area to my colleague Phil Rickett, Quality and Technical manager, bss.enquiries AT boatsafetyscheme DOT com with the text of your question or go to the contact page on our website and send in question from there.

Kind regards
Rob @ BSS Office
