BSS Cert\'s

Interesting, if not depressing post, on the Motor Boats forum that there is going to be an increase in the BSS Cert's due to a reduction in EA funding. Thought you'd all be happy to hear that after having to fork out an increase in license fee's as well /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: BSS Cert\'s

Take your boat to the salty salty sea, wave goodbye to the idiot BSC requirements, restore her to seamanlike state, and enjoy!

Re: BSS Cert\'s

would be interesting to see the raw data for BSS scheme, and how many 'accidents' the system has reduced, compared to the costs to administer, and for boaters to implement

I've seen this one on canal boat fora several times. Basically the authorities approach is similar to the saga of MAIB a few weeks ago: "we're not telling you but take our word for it".

BSS is supposedly not for profit and, by their own self justification they can't have much need to spend, so all those £24 certificates might mean they make a surplus. I wonder if their finances are a matter of public record?
