Bruntons auto prop

It is worth getting half a dozen whilst you are at it to reduce postage & save the hassle next time. Mine last half a season
re the question of being isolated from the saildrive , i have a rope cutter which links them . The sail drive anode lasts a season- I do not use shore power unless cruising.

Well as a rule I keep spares for things like filters, Anode, some hoses, impellers, bearing for water pumps and so on , but as it happen we brought the prop in late 2016 and I forgot to get a spare Anode when back in the Uk in Dec, like a fool O tho I be able to buy them as Vyv said there many different cones in the shops but as it happen Bruntons make there just that little different and at £35 plus vat it's a bit of a piss take when you can get almost the same cones for less then have that price , thanks to paella , I can now get the same ones for under £20 and £2 pp and not the £10 Bruntons want to charge.
So yes I will be ordering a few .

Maybe you could pass on that his customer who spend over 2 k on their prop thinks they are well over charging for their parts and the P&P is just stupid , I Just had a 30kg parcel sent from SVB in Germany to Malta by road and Air for 29 Euro .
I also now going to get two Anode sent by post from the UK to Malta for the same price they want to send to UK address .
Maybe I being a bit hard on the company , or am I ?

Hey Vic, do you protect the edges around the screws so they dont erode ? Maybe thats why it fell off cos the material is very skimpy around there, borrow Chrissies best Dior nail varnish

Chrissy and nail varnish ha , at the moment her nails are navy blue antifouling colour ,
but yes that what I plain to do with the next Anode .

£2K ??? Mine ( a 16 inch 2 blade) cost me £ 600-00. new & fitted .But as they say, it is not what you know but.........!!!!!

Don't think you can rely on that as not only is there a delrin bearing between the two cutters but neither of the two pins are well fixed to the housing and the prop.

Tufnol whale bearings In mine, but my latest saildrive cutter was not made by Ambassador. I was not prepared to blow £ 590-00 on an Ambassador.
However, the Brunton is connected to the shaft & not isolated as you suggest in #7. There is a plate on the front of the Brunton that takes the pins for the rope cutter & this bridges the rubber section in the centre of the prop. In addition the pins in the cutter link to the section of the cutter that sits on the shaft ( Same as the original Ambassador) So that is another link between the outer prop & the shaft
At least that is how mine works on a Volvo 120 saildrive
