Brrrrr..............

swmbo left work at 3pm yesterday and finally arrived home at 11pm - 8 hours to do about 15 miles. I have never known such conditions in this neck of the woods in over 20 years and was seriously worried as to whether or not she would make it without running out of fuel - not a nice feeling when you can do nothing to help.

However, although it took me about two hours earlier in the day to get back from the boat, I did it with a BSS certificate lurking in my inside pocket which seems to have mildly warming capabilities ...... :D

I was listening in the early hours to an LBC phone in. Some people had been stuck on the M25 for untold hours. Even a Copper phoned in who was stuck there and couldn't get in to work.

The media don't help under these conditions "400 lorries on the M25", oh dear; but where - it's quite a long road.

Another bulletin said "Surrey", but that's a long stretch, so not hugely helpful if you intend to go out.

News, Yes; information, No.

With the 'long' extremely cold and snowy winter last year, I remember thinking it couldnt get any worse - then we get to 'this year' and its the same but earlier.

Lets hope the shore power leads arent tripped by over zealous fuses (and/or over zealous marina staff) !!!

Ivor. :D

look on the bright side. Think of all the insects that are being killed off. There'll be no lack of birds in our area. Half our food budget goes on bird food and my water rates will soar as the Eileen keeps warm water available for them all around the place.

Blimey Byron, I think i'll have a 'species change' and become a featherite. With all that food and warmth in Berks I wanna be there !! ;)

Real hardship in deepest Surrey

Things are getting pretty desperate for us here in Surrey. All the anchovy paste has gone and we're down to the last Abernethy biscuit. Why doesn't the Government do something to relieve our plight?

You realise Birds have no Sphincter and poo drops straight through, this will mess up the interior of your boat, also they have Willies almost as small as Brayman's.

I know all about the 'no sphincter' feature, I used to moor at Thames & Kennett (10 yrs ago) where I spent most of my weekends trying to remove endless seagull poos (and the seagulls themselves during the night). Small willies, but boy they sure can procreate :eek::eek:

Wow, are they like the ones in Newcastle that wear short skirts in this weather?

Girls wear short skirts in Geordieland? I though they wore overalls and worked as Welders now all the mines are closed. In fact it was only after the mines all shut down that I found out that Geordies were white folk.

I bow to your superior knowledge of the intimacies of our Kennet dwelling friend.

You seem to have done your research on the feathered creatures as well....

Cuchilo, eat your heart out! You'll never top this!!
