Have I missed it, or has there been no comment about Broom Boats here?? They have gone....liquidated and asset stripped. How sad is that? An old, and great brand, making great boats.....gone forever??

They only had a tiny marquee at SBS, and no boats on the pontoons, shame.

Been at least a three of threads on here recently. Please pay attention at the back/

Interesting to see Broom have a stand at the boat show, not sure what they are doing there?

I think the situation is that the Boatbuilding business is the one that's been closed but that the Brokerage, Boatyard and Marina side is still running, and they're the guys who are at SIBS. Whether this is a temporary state of affairs until they get planning permission for executive waterside properties :), or a permanent state of affairs, is not clear.

According to IBI, the new owners intend to re-start boat production under the Broom name. My guess (and most of the previous speculation on here) is that if they do (and who knows?) they won't be building the boats in Norfolk, but more likely somewhere further east - like Turkey or Taiwan.

Very sad
