I'm replacing my two hull fitting and seacock assemblies with bronze. On each assembly, above the ball valve unit, I have a 90deg bronze hose tail. Because of confined space, it's important that the valve handle and hose tail point in the right direction. The handle can be sorted relatively easily, but invariably when tightened fully, the hose tail faces in the wrong direction. Swivelling cap and tail is an option, but pricey and bulky, so I'd like to put in a bronze washer/shim to adjust as necessary. I've searched the web to no avail, so does anyone know where I might find such an item (up to 1.5" BSP) or would another material (SS/brass/fibre/rubber) be suitable, given that it's on the "safe" side of the valve? Grateful for any advice....

Rather than a shim or spacer washer can you use a back nut or lock nut.

Screw the nut on to the thread, assemble elbow on to the valve with the outlet facing the desired direction and tighten the lock nut.
Perhaps not if the elbow has a shoulder that is designed to be tightened down onto a joint washer.

The arrangement would be a good way of locking the position of the valve onto the skin fitting .

Brass ones available as standard from ASAP supplies. Bronze on request.

Many thanks to all for the suggestions - I'll try the locknut route first - as long as the hose tail is locked in its angular direction, I can seal it with Sikaflex. The maximum it has to take is the Jabsco outlet pump pressure when the valve is open. I'll check thicknesses with ASAP, and if I need something thinner, I'll take up the offer of some custom shims, if I may. :)
