Brokers.?

The guy is David and yes I know him well ex cruiser , wouldn't have nothing to do with him , my dealing with him some years back was a totally cock up so where two other cruisers I know ,
If you looking at buying any thing from him , I would make sure everything is in writing and not pay any deposit until you see all the papers that if you can get him to get off his ass in the first place so you can view a boat .
Sorry bob but between him and Steve in the marina they both need to get there act in gear .

I made a serious offer on a yacht 6 days ago ,he hasn't bothered to send photos , I have phoned everyday ,he answers and agrees to send pre contract , but does nothing .

Bob the guy a tossed he should stick to running the Guinness bar they have .
Really wouldn't have any thing to do with him , your better off to ask the marina or yards to write to the owners of the boat and give them your details and cut him out .
See the PM I sent you , it may be no use to you or you may be interested .

In the afternoon it sounds like he's drinking the profits from the Guinness bar!

I spoke to him again this morning ,asking politely to send photos of deck and engine and a confirmation of an contract.
5 hours later nothing .
Why do boat owners put their vessels up for sale with these's charletans ?

Does he have some kind of exclusive agreement to operate in Cleopatra marina? I met him a few times but I never did business with him. From what I read here and my own sad experience with the waster in W&S it seems both Irish and English flotsam are polluting the shores around Lefkada.

I will try what you suggest, however I went to view this boat 3 weeks ago and Cleopatra marine would not let me on site ,without a broker.
I went to the Net work broker on site and they were closed at 14:50 pm , bars were busy though.

Bob if you get written consent from the owner they can't stop you . Personally I wouldn't gas ask unless I couldn't find the boat .
The problem going to be is getting the keys for it but if the owner is agreeable the marina may have a set .
David is a nice guy to socialise with and have a drink but as a business man his crap .

That's the problem, I don't know who the owner is

I was talking to a broker in Italy today Rome area .I asked him had he visited the boat in question , his answer was yes, he knew the boat well and had taken all the photos ..
He went a bit quiet when I pointed out different coloured sails ,some had teak decks others not .one with the anchor windless above deck the other below..

Yacht brokers give used car salesmen a run for their money

That's very unfair to used car salesmen. Shame on you.

We had a great experience (selling) with Creo Yacht Brokers based in Lefkas. Matt & Emma ...ex pats, knowledgeable and definately went the extra mile for us. Matt got up at 4am & drove 5 hours just to show our boat to a potential buyer.
