Tis time to put our Maxum 2500 on the market /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif and move up to something a little bigger, rugged and better suited to year round use /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Does anybody have any recommendations for brokers in the Poole area ?? The boat is based at Cobbs Quay so Ancasta and Oceanique are on-site, Boatshed Poole are also an obvious choice.

Thanks

Paul

P.S. Open to private offers, PM me for details

Hi Paul
Im at Cobbs Quay as well, i bought my first boat through Paul Grange who is based in poole, i found paul and his partner Amanda very helpfull with the purchase and made sure the sale went as smoothly as possible, if i did not part exchange my first boat through sealine, i would have used him, note he also does part exchanges aswell now, If you do speak to him or Amanda say i said hello ! what pontoon are you on ?we are at c81, but boat been stuck in Jersey for last 3 weeks! good luck anyway, Nathan

think you might find that if you use a broker anyone other than ancasta you will have to pay mdl a %
ancasta have an exclusive deal
if you sell it yourself, eg ebay, freeads then you owe them nothing
good luck

The brokers you have mentioned are all good, I would seriously recommend Christian Moore who is based locally. Google him, he is very good.

I agree sell it yourself.

I sent an email to a broker about a boat (maxum 2500 by fluke) last night, I got a phone call from the broker first thing .....good ?

Well would you believe it wasn't really where it was advertised but only a 2-3 hour drive away, this is silly as there could be a potential buyer with in a mile or two of it that doesn't want to drive several hours to see it and what happens if he does to find it is actually a few miles from where he set off from.

He didn't know how many hours it had done but "not many"
He suggested it may not have been slept on, but wasn't sure /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif as new /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
He didn't know what year it was but as new.

I wasn't about to drive to look at it in case he couldn't find it when we got there !

Sold my sealine with Oceanique two months back. I have used others in the past and found that Oceanique are just as good as the others but dont cost as much. Oceanique also sorted the buyers list of snaggs and at a very very good price and also very quickly. I would use them again,.

I could not agree moore (see what I did their), I have just purchased a boat from Christian and after having 14 boats, I’ve dealt with most brokers, some good and some bad but he is up there with the very best, his service and knowledge (after Sunseeker) is impressive.
We had 3 sea trials and during each a small issue arose, he was on the phone to Volvo and the boat was immediately lifted at Salterns and the problems resolved. He postponed his holiday, sending his family on ahead in order that we were satisfied.
I cold not recommend this man enough.

During my time at Cobbs I tried Ancasta, I found them VERY poor, which is a shame because my previous experiance withother Ancasta offices was good namely Lymington.

Oceanique appeared to more active, unfortunately I moved away from the Marina before I could give them a try.
