For future reference, people might consider the use of Debit Cards for paying money over to a broker.
We have just sold our trailer sailer to a chap who used his debit card to pay the funds over to the broker. The whole transaction took about 10 mins (a security 'phone call was needed) and the chap drove away towing the boat behind him.
The Broker had suggested the debit card as the best way to purchase as no commission and instant transfer. They said it was their preferred method of payment and they had used it for transactions in excess of £100K.
They issued the bill of sale immediately and discharged our mortgage the same day. We were very impressed with the broker.
