Hi all
whilst lowering my anchor last weekend the remote wire wound around the windlass and pulled all the wires from the remote, had to pull the anchor up by hand hard work.
Problem is when I re-soldered the wires to the plug my windlass will only work on up but not down.
Does any one know what wires should go to the 3 pin plug I have 3 wires black, blue and brown and the plug has 3 pins 1,3 and 4.
If the wiring is not the problem what else could be wrong, windlass is a lofrans Cayman 12v 1000w

thanks

Just a suhhestion - it seems likely that the remote is effectively 2 separate switches. Lets say Pin 1 is the DC + in, and pin 3 is DC + out for up, while pin 4 is DC + for down. Switch one therefore is connect pin 1 to pin 3 to go up, while siwtch two is connect pin 1 to pin 4 for down. If the wires are the wrong way round, then either switch one will connect the DC + in to a DC + out, but switch two will connect the up and down DC + outs, or vice versa. That being the case, two of the three wires are on the wrong pins.
