Broken pushrods

Its not difficult to see into the sump. You just have to take off the crank case side covers!
Not sure about debris jamming the cam followers but if even that were likely it's something wrong at the top that we'd be looking for. Some reason why the valves were jammed or the rockers siezed.

The engine was turning freely after the incident and when i had the head off. Also you can see the cam with the followers out. Seems like quite a lot of room for any broken bits to pass. So I do not think it was a Jam there. As I can see the cam from the top any damage to the cam from a stray washer would show.

I will bale a load of flushing fluid in there to wash anything out. Will also take side covers off and get pen magnet in there. You are supposed to run the engine with flushing fluid for 10 mins so that should clear oil ways.

Good point about raisng the block to get at the oil feed pipe. Bit worried about those as you have to bend them a bit to lift the heads off.

Another thought. Why would both rods go? If they affected each other then they must affect the other cylinder.

There was a lot of clearance on the valves, .75mm. But that would be the case if the rods were bent as it would effectively shorten them. The clearance would not be enough to allow the rod to come out of the cup though as earlier suggested as the cups are about 3- 4mm deep.

Going to have a go putting it together on sat if I can free up cylinder. It has been soaking for a week.
