Plod excell in EU performance tables on Warning Law-Abiding Members of the Public They May Be Arrested

They do less well in the Catching Thieving Scum-Bag tables.

A fair few years ago mine wwas one of about 6 boats broken into when ashore for the winter.

Our ' police liaison ' member wisely told us not to go aboard or touch anything until the police arrived.

Eventually a couple turned up, the WPC turned to me and said ' on you get then '; I said ' what about fingerprints ?' - she actually said ' oh far too much trouble '.

Ironically the only thing they'd stolen was the free standing alarm - and the only thig the WPC did was to ask for a piece of the smashed case as a souvenir.

Still at least they turned up, they didn't when my Dads' boat was done and all his tools thrown over the side ( the good news is there was a lot of blood where they'd broken the hatch ).

A while ago I was at the slip when 4 scrotes - 2 male 2 female about 17 - made off with a non-club rowing dinghy from the slip.

A chum called 101 and gave the plod an ETA of 45 minutes and where they would have to land - no oars, paddling with hands - even with this handed on a plate plod still couldn't be bothered to turn up.

It wouldn't take much to convince me plod are just another set of scrotes, and they get more money using their method...
 
Thedreamoneday, where are the swinging moorings at West Kirby - do you mean drying moorings? If so, I would check the CCTV at West Kirby railway station. The fine weather has, as usual, brought hoards of people to West Kirby, the large majority by train. It's easy to walk across the sand to a distance far enough from prying eyes and pursue criminal activities and take the proceeds some distance away by train for realisation. Wouldn't it be interesting if the culprit was a headmaster - sorry, they're all perfect aren't they!?

Apologies, they are drying moorings-'it seems they've been using another boat to get aboard to help themselves so the CCTV is of no use!

I have found a pair of sunglasses in my cockpit which don't belong to me, they've been bagged and are enroute to the police forensics team.
 
In the experience of myself and others, the police forensics team will probably say ' ta for the sunglasses ' and are more likely to wear them when out shopping than take any fingerprints ! :rolleyes:
