Broken Free or Nicked?

I am surprised its location is unknown. By the nature of a pontoon it should be floating somewhere in the harbour as I cannot imagine it floating out of Portsmouth without anyone seeing it?

Sounds like one of the old pontoons that were moored/anchored off the jetty at Wicormarine. In a south-westerly I would expect it to be on the beach next to the yard. So maybe it has been nicked!

Something looks wrong in the LNTM though. "in the vicinity of Wicor Lake 50 50.4N 001 01.09W " That position is in Langstone Harbour. 50 50.4N 001 09.01W is just off the jetty at Wicor.

There are a few tatty old pontoons scattered around on the mud in Portsmouth harbour, rotting quietly, so the difficulty may well be to know which is broken free and which is just broken. Most seem to have equally tatty fisherman's kit on them; a few may even have the necessary paperwork

There was a large pontoon "loosley" tied to the armaments jetty. Wonder if it's that one as it would be pretty hefty and worth a NTM.

Anglers are coming in for stick today. Someone referred to them as coarse in another thread.
