If you realy can get a system for £59 a month please post links to their site here. I'm sure I am not the onle one interested.

Me thinks you may get a connection for the price but will be hit with large charges for data transfer. But I would love to be proved wrong. Addskype and you would have a very cost effective communications system.
 
I'm with you!! I got a PM, which said it was britsat in Spain, but want to know who and where they are, plus what equipment I need. Be very handy for me.

It must be all but impossiable to possition the dish without expensive equipment to locate and optimise the signl. Its ment for home owners that want internet today and dont live anywhere near a hot spot

It's the 'EXTRA BANDWIDTH' that will kill you - as with all the other systems they are selling a fixed bandwidth (download/upload wolume) and then charge you for more. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I was just looking at pocketmail and saw they sold out to maglobe. Pity pocket mail works from a mobile phone far cheeper email than GPRS

This promises highspeed surfing in USA no charge and Europe $2.40/hour but i can see if i can have a toll free mobile link??

Have you checked out Follow Me TV? This is a low cost (USD897) dish positioning system, targetted at being a 90% percent solution to the problem of keeping a dish pointed at a satellite. Unlike KVH type products, it will not track in all conditions, but works fine in anchorages and passagemaking in calm conditions. We have used the product in the med for the past 5 years, using it to track the HotBird satellites as we have travelled between Spain and Greece. We spend over 100 nights at anchor each season and seldom have problems. Our boat swings a lot at anchor, but we have no trouble keeping a TV picture as long as the wind is below 20kts.
