What's happened to that great white monstrosity that used to be at the end of the sea wall?

Not that I miss it, but I was surprised to see it gone; I thought that it was a permanent feature.

This attractive and sleek vessel (!) is now residing in Portsmouth Naval Dockyard drydock being worked on (well it was a couple of months ago when I saw it from a P & O ferry)
