Brits marrying in Spain, is it possible ?

Further to our getting hitched post..
Just a point, is it possible / legal for two brits to marry in Spain, we are officially UK residents...

I just realised I dont know the answer lol..

Joe, it's possible but the bad news is that you have to be legally resident in Spain. See this site, which is specific to Andalucia but deals with the rules in Spain generally too. www.andalucia.com/law/marriage/home.htm
You may want to think about having a wedding/honeymoon in sunny Gibraltar - it's very easy there - even Mick Jagger did it!

I thought that may be the case.. so may have to be the UK or Gib, never thought of Gib.. hmmm interwesting...

Maybe a week in the UK and back to Spain for partying.. ??

How about a trip to the Azores or Canaries? Not sure of the rules but I think they often do do weddings for forgien nationals who make it a holiday, bit like the Carribian.

Azores are Portugal - might not help much if wishing to marry in Spain.
