Used to get very poor choice until they reorganised the satellites last winter and don't want to go back to that situation.
"Many thousands are watching English TV" (me included) but paying a lot via cable services, for which the UK providers are charging. I have no choice, cable services are a monopoly difficult to avoid here in Switzerland, provided by default similar to electricity for entire residential properties.Isn't it about time that we could actually subscribe to the UK stations legally, via a tv licence payable in the UK? Just how many Thousands are watching English TV without paying across the continent? It would be interesting to know.
There are many expats who live abroad because they like the sun. They don't necessarily like foreigners though and don't want to watch funny foreign TV with greasy presenters, much preferring the vacuous morons on UK tv.Having just been back to the UK and seen all the rubbish that's on, I fail to understand why anyone is bothered about trying to get it overseas...... We have DVD's to watch when reading books or playing games gets a bit boring. If there's something that really has to be seen (can't imagine what) then there's always filmon or expat shield.![]()
