Not sure if this will be of much interest to anyone these days, but I have my late uncle's papers from his time as an engineering officer with the British India Steam Navigation Company, 1940 - 1953.

His ships are listed below, and I've taken the ship details from The Ships List. There are some minor discrepancies in the Gross Tonnages between those quoted in his papers and those at the website; <ul type="square"> Itola, built1940, 1958 sold to Pakistan renamed Pakistan Promoter. Gross Tonnage 6,793
Santhia, built 1925, 1943 caught fire and capsized in River Hooghly. Gross Tonnage 7,754
Itaura, built 1940, 1958 sold to Pakistan renamed Jahangirabad. Gross Tonnage 6,793
Takliwa, built 1924, 1945 stranded and burnt out Nicobar Islands. Gross Tonnage 7,936
Varela, built 1914, 1951 scrapped. Gross Tonnage 4,645
Ethiopia, built 1922, 1949 scrapped in Calcutta. Gross Tonnage 5,575
Ellenga, built 1911, 1948 scrapped in Calcutta. Gross Tonnage 5,196
Sir Harvey Adamson, built1914, 1947 disappeared without trace off Burma; loss of 269 lives. Gross Tonnage 1,030
