takes 4 hours to penarth, then 4h 45m to swansea going via nash passage.

its the inshore passage around the nashsands, look at you chart and draw an approx line between nash point, Kenfig patches / hugo bank to Grounds WCM.

at our speeds it knocks off about an hour getting from penarth to swansea.
 
oh yeah - it is, pick your day, its rough at the enterance by nash point at the overfalls, remember your tides though and if at springs you might not want to save that hour! - Gludy might be able to add more info as well, he probably has been thru it more times than me.
