Ive Just bought my second power boat having just sold my sealine s34.

I took a flight from Newquay to Stansted and was met by Nick from Essex boatyards.

I then spent most of the day on board with Nick going through the boat ( little bit like a pre- hand over). I had a trial and the boat was fabulous, it was just what I was looking for.

Over night I stayed in the White Hart hotel in Burnham-on-Crouch. Sunday I was back in Essex Boatyards with a massive list of jobs to do. Nothing was too much trouble. All jobs agreed and a deposit was paid!

Nick taxied me back to Stansted and a 50 minute flight, I was back in Cornwall.

The whole experience of buying the boat was a pleasure. The round trip to Essex including the hotel was just under £100.

So now Im the new owner of a FairlineTarga 34. I got loads of pictures to post later.

It was a delight to meet Nick and the team at Essex. I was really impressed!

each way, Stansted to Newquay is £29. On top of this load on the hidden charges for airport taxes and landing fees. I think the total came to £40 each way.

It would cost more if fuel if I drove to Essex.

Congratulations. For my benefit only ( presently a Sealine S28 owner), what did the Fairline 34 have that the Sealine 34 did not. I was considering moving up to a Sealine S34.

Thanks

There is a noticable build quality with the Targa. Sealine have the edge with regards the accommodation. The s34 has a much roomier aft cabin. The saloon is bigger and it has far more storage than the fairline. The Sealine anchor well is big enough to get in!

The Sealine sea ride is not as good. I found my self slowing up even in a force 3 chop.
Selling the sealine was difficult since the market is flooded by them. Its great to buy but not so good when you come to sell. I had to take a big dip to move the boat on.

I had a sealine with KAD 32s. They were ok and we cruised at 24 knots and 28 was the top end.

The targa cruises at 30 knots and the top end is about 42 knots. We were looking for something with a bit of sparkle. We gave up the far superior accommodation for something that shifts! We were looking for a good fun boat where you can throw it around.

Anybody here will say that Fairline are brilliant sea boats.

It was a difficult decision to give up the accommodation since only about 50 hours we are at sea per year. The rest of the time we are tied up in harbour.

I also think the Targa will hold its value much better than sealine, particularly now they have stopped building the T34.

Pm me for my telephone number, I will happily chat with you about the s34.

Well done Cliff, great decision, the T34 is a fab boat.

It's good to hear that Essex are looking after you so well....just make sure all the paperwork is with the boat..!!

Yep, congrats in order, well done! Essex are easy to deal with and lots of choice too. I have a sneaky feeling that your right about the discontinued product/value theory, 34 is a popular and practical useable size.
Hope you have a lot of fun with her.

You mentioned Kad 32's in the Sealine, what have they shoe-horned into the Targa for 30Knots Cruising? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
