My fast few postings on here have got absolutely nothing to do wih boating so I thought I would remedy that.
Being new to boating we are still encountering new experiences which the old timers think are nothing but for us are really special.
Finished work early on Friday and zoomed up to Windermere. Quck bite to eat and we headed out onto the lake. It was so quiet. We anchored in Pull Wyke at the north of the lake and stayed out overnight (first time I have trusted my anchoring capability during sleeping hours.)
Saw one other boat which glided into the bay silently afer dark. Up early next morning, sun blazing, stunning blue skies and mist on the lake, ate breakfast listening and watching the local wildlife.
It was so idyllic we stayed put all day lazing about, swimming and eating. Plenty of boats in the distance but no real disturbance. Cooked our first meal at anchor using the Origo stove - tasted fantastic.
Upped anchor at about 6.30pm and headed for marina passing a few boats decorated for the Boat Parade. Went into Bowness to pick up provisions from Threshers and bumped into friends who came back on board for the evening which was then topped of by a stunning fireworks display.
Absolutely perfect weekend. Now I know why I bought a boat
