Just returned from 3 day trip on the Clyde in weather often hoped for but rarely found. Blue sky, warm sunshine and a perfect F3-4. Left Troon tuesday, great sail to Sanda, ashore for pint of new Arran ale now on draught and to purchase a dozen of Richards finest eggs,(Princess Anne did the same the previous week) Next day sail up the Kilbrannan sound stoping to anchor at Torrisdale, Pinmill and finally for the night at Lochranza. Yesterday sailed back to Troon stopping to anchor in the next best place to heaven "Callum's Hole" on the south end of Bute. A brilliant few days sail, with hardly another yacht in sight for the whole 3 days, try that on the Solent in weather like that!! We really do have a magnificant sailing area on our doorstep....maybe I should keep quiet about it though and try and keep it that way. Enjoy the Bank Holiday folks...its back to work for me
