The chaps at the Queenborough Harbour Trust have obviuosly been working hard getting this important stop over on its feet again from what I've seen on recent visits.

The regular trot boat, new pontoon, harbour office and the new hardwood floating pontoon to the shore is a huge improvement for the town from the previous. Fair play to them!

They've also thought of the 'Adopt a plank' idea, (details below) and I'd encourage anyone local to spare 1/2 a plank's worth to help the trust and make this a success.

The brass name plates added to your purchased plank are going fast so get in quick if you want your Yacht club or boat name added to the pontoon 'hall of fame'.

Brilliant idea - have a read!

I'm having one!

Us too.
Nice to see you albeit briefly.
Freya has grown up so much and she was looking ace in that dinghy!

You too!

Yes she has got the hang of her dinghy now, that was her first time out this year. She just worries about give way situations with other boats, she was savagely carved up by a yacht under power last year that decided adding full power and nearly T boning her was the best course of action...

Anyway, I'll look out for your plank!

I'm planning on varnishing our plank every year to make it stand out :)

Plank Purchased - will it be there on July 4/5th?
To remind all - that is the ECF Barbecue venue this year.....

Hopefully a picture below of the new pontoon taken before the plaques started going on. The chap that was concerned last year by the quality of the decking and its supports need not worry now.....:)

I'll have to admit on Tuesday night I ignored the barrier, warning signs and fencing to climb on the landing and get a photo of the MYC Cruiser Class plaques ahead of last nights meeting.

I bought a token walked round the corner and noticed an important part of the pontoon connecting to the shore wasn't there!

Luckily the tide was out and I had my boots on...

Hi Dave,

Yeah sorry about that, we decided to lift the bridge connecting the walkway to Crundells Wharf on Tuesday as it's usually a quiet day and with the weather forecast wasn't expecting any visitors. This was to renew the top end of the walkway and lay the new decking under where the bridge sits.

There was a slight delay, and the bridge will be lifted back in place at 11am tomorrow morning and will be open as normal for the weekend.

Thanks to you all who have purchased a plank...over 60 have now been sold :encouragement:

Lower Halstow Yacht Club are having 2. We voted on it at last nights committee meeting.

Good man!

You can't not have one if you sail locally and want to show support for your local waters IMO.

I'll repeat my earlier thoughts - a cracking idea - which will most likely be 'borrowed' by some other clubs....
