In an attempt to get the last word, (if that is possible) I agree with 'Cobra' and others that this has outrun it's usefulness and we should call a halt.
As a Brightlingsea resident I am very happy with the Water Taxi. When I have masses of gear I am not left at the drop off point but taken to my boat etc.
As someone else said the taxi operator has a thankless and poorly paid job out in all weathers regardless if there are any customers to move or not.
As to boat handling skills, occasionally I get it wrong as I am sure most of us on here do, just I am not berthing / unberthing 50 (?? guessing??) times in a day. I doubt many sailors make as many alongsides in a season as the water taxi does in a weekend so if one was a bit hard well so what!
Keep it up Ian, we do appreciate you!
