There needs to be space left for coasters to get up to the wharf so I dont see a big issue or too much of an impact on the 'waiting area'.
Wouldn't be happy if the planned pontoon turned into a Dong windfarm boats pontoon.
By the way, dont know if it is open yet but there will be a fuel pontoon in B'sea with running water too - just upstream of the Colne YC Pontoon.
Has the name of the new HM been made public?

From what I can see of the plans, I doubt it will cause any inconvenience to anyone!
Face it, Brightlingsea is a commercial port (albeit not that busy) and as such, clear passage must be maintained for commercial vessels.
A new pontoon that will enhance the Smack Dock facilities can surely only add to the ambience of the town?
For once, I am actually in favour of a development in Brightlingsea!!

Indirectly I have been told who it is, but not sure if I can say as it hasn't been announced. Just surprised it hasn't been made public. Interviews were 1 / 2 and 17 Dec. I had a letter telling me I hadn't got the job just before Christmas.
